Zig Zag Day Nursery was created in March 2012 with a simple aim – to offer something more personal than larger, corporate childcare settings.
As a family-run nursery in Peterborough, we focus on:
- Building genuine relationships with children and families
- Creating a calm, homely environment rather than a busy institutional feel
- Being approachable, flexible and supportive wherever possible
- Taking time to understand each child instead of following a one-size-fits-all approach
Many of our families tell us they chose Zig Zag because it feels warm, welcoming and personal, and because they know their child will be cared for by familiar staff who truly know them.

We continue to invest in our curriculum, staff training and learning spaces so we can provide high-quality early education while keeping the personal, family-run feel that makes Zig Zag special.

What Ofsted Says About Us
Zig Zag Day Nursery Peterborough is an Ofsted-registered nursery and we are proud that our most recent inspection judged the nursery to be Good in all areas.
Ofsted recognised that children feel a strong sense of belonging in our welcoming and inclusive environment and are respected as unique individuals. Inspectors highlighted that staff build secure attachments with children, supporting their emotional wellbeing and confidence.
The report also recognised:
- Children’s curiosity, independence and enjoyment of learning
- Our strong focus on communication and language development
- Positive relationships between staff, children and families
- Inclusive support for children with additional needs
- A curriculum that builds on what children already know and can do
